     From 1848, her married name became Sumner.1 She was founder of the Mother's Union.2

     Mary Caroline Douglas was the daughter of Richard Campbell.1 She married John Hamilton Lawrence, 2nd Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately, son of John Laird Mair Lawrence, 1st Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately and Harriette Katherine Hamilton, on 22 August 1872.1 She died on 16 November 1938.1
     From 22 August 1872, her married name became Lawrence. After her marriage, Mary Caroline Douglas was styled as Baroness Lawrence on 27 June 1879.

     Alexander Graham Lawrence, 3rd Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately was born on 29 March 1878.1 He was the son of John Hamilton Lawrence, 2nd Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately and Mary Caroline Douglas.2 He married, firstly, Dorothy Helen Hobson, daughter of Anthony Pemberton Hobson, on 12 November 1907.1 He married, secondly, Jessie Daniels, daughter of Colonel Byron Gordon Daniels, on 3 September 1935.1 He married, thirdly, Catherine Louisa Fernihough, daughter of Charles Fernihough, on 29 June 1938.1 He died on 24 June 1947 at age 69.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Worcester College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment, 3rd King's (Liverpool) Regiment.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Middlesex.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 11th (Company of London) Battalion, The London Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Middlesex.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately, co. Southampton [U.K., 1869] on 22 August 1913.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Lawrence [U.K., 1858] on 22 August 1913.1

     Dorothy Helen Hobson was the daughter of Anthony Pemberton Hobson.2 She married Alexander Graham Lawrence, 3rd Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately, son of John Hamilton Lawrence, 2nd Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately and Mary Caroline Douglas, on 12 November 1907.1 She died on 1 February 1935.1
     From 12 November 1907, her married name became Lawrence. After her marriage, Dorothy Helen Hobson was styled as Baroness Lawrence on 22 August 1913. She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1920.1

     John Anthony Edward Lawrence, 4th Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately was born on 16 October 1908.1 He was the son of Alexander Graham Lawrence, 3rd Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately and Dorothy Helen Hobson.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Jean Downer, daughter of Arthur Downer, on 8 August 1936.1 He and Margaret Jean Downer were divorced in 1947.1 He married, secondly, Joan Alice Mildred Lewer, daughter of Colonel Arthur John Lewer, on 16 October 1948.1 He died on 8 October 1968 at age 59.1
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 8th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment (Territorial Army.)1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately, co. Southampton [U.K., 1869] on 24 June 1947.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Lawrence [U.K., 1858] on 24 June 1947.1
