Admiral Sir George Knightley Chetwode was born on 10 December 1877.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir George Chetwode, 6th Bt. and Alice Jane Bass.2 He married, firstly, Alice Clara Vaughan-Lee, daughter of Major Vaughan Hanning Vaughan-Lee and Clara Elizabeth Moore, on 4 February 1908.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Jane Taylor, daughter of Frederick Taylor, on 13 January 1939.1 He died on 11 March 1957 at age 79.1
