Admiral Francis William Kennedy was born in 1862.1 He was the son of Robert Kennedy and Alice Elizabeth Gray.2 He married Amy Goodeve, daughter of Colonel Henry Hills Goodeve, on 30 August 1898.1 He died on 11 July 1939.1
He was commissioned in 1876, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Egyptian War in 1882, he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the East Africa Campaign in 1896, he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.1 He fought in the Benin Expedition in 1897, he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the First World War, he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was awarded the Order of St. Anne of Russia 2nd Class with swords.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
