Harriet Lavinia Sargent was the daughter of Captain Richard Sargent.2 She married, firstly, Captain Charles Francis Gregg before 1887.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Francis Fawkes Johnstone, son of Lt.-Gen. Montague Cholmeley Johnstone and Leonora Louisa Somerset, on 10 February 1887.1 She died on 27 July 1910.1

Charles Campbell Gosling Johnstone was born on 31 May 1889.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Francis Fawkes Johnstone and Harriet Lavinia Sargent.2 He married, firstly, Laura Mary Hemans, daughter of Lt.-Col. Willoughby B Hemans, on 28 November 1912.1 He and Laura Mary Hemans were divorced in 1927.1 He married, secondly, Nina de Sventorgetsky, daughter of Colonel Valentine de Sventorgetsky, in 1928.1 He died in 1942.1
He gained the rank of Major in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.1 He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1
