Catherine Gurney was born circa 1814.2 She was the daughter of Samuel Gurney and Elizabeth Sheppard.2,3 She married Sir Edward North Buxton, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 1st Bt. and Hannah Gurney, on 12 April 1836.1 She died on 11 August 1911.1
