     Robert Christian Hoyer Millar was born on 9 January 1872.1 He was the son of Edward Millar and Margaret Buist Johnstone.2 He married Muriel Rosa Lillian Foster, daughter of John Foster, on 8 June 1899.1 He died on 2 June 1932 at age 60.1
     He was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Black Watch.1 He was a timber merchant.1 He fought in the First World War.2 He lived at Montrose, Angus, Scotland.1
