     Lt.-Col. Jenico Edwards Preston was born on 30 November 1855.1 He was the son of Hon. Charles Preston and Alicia Margaretta North.1 He died on 27 January 1940 at age 84, unmarried.1
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1887.1 He fought in the Jowaki Expedition.2 He fought in the Afghanistan Campaign.2 He fought in the Burma Campaign.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1909.1
