Mary Virginia Holcroft was born on 18 June 1939.1 She is the daughter of Sir Reginald Culcheth Holcroft, 2nd Bt. and Mary Frances Swire.2 She married Major William Kemp Trotter, son of Lt.-Col. William Dale Chaytor Trotter, on 6 August 1960.1
She was educated at Heathfield School, Ascot, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 From 6 August 1960, her married name became Trotter. She was a District Councillor in 1973.1 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1979.1 She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 2000.1 She lived in 2003 at The Deanery, Staindrop, Darlington, County Durham, EnglandG.1
