Robert Maclellan, 1st Lord Kirkcudbright was born after 1583.2 He was the son of Sir Thomas MacLellan of Bombie and Grissel Maxwell.1 He married, secondly, Mary Gage, daughter of Robert Gage and Anne Pemberton.1 He married, firstly, Agnes Campbell, daughter of Sir Matthew Campbell of Loudoun and Isabel Drummond, in 1603.3,2 He died on 18 January 1638/39.1,4
He was created 1st Lord Kirkcudbright on 25 May 1633.
