Helen Katharine Warrender was the daughter of Sir John Warrender of Lochend, 5th Bt. and Hon. Frances Henrietta Arden.1 She married George Baillie-Hamilton, 11th Earl of Haddington, son of George Baillie-Hamilton, 10th Earl of Haddington and Georgina Markham, on 17 October 1854.1 She died on 29 May 1889.1
From 17 October 1854, her married name became Baillie-Hamilton. After her marriage, Helen Katharine Warrender was styled as Baillie-Hamilton-Arden on 31 December 1858.2 After her marriage, Helen Katharine Warrender was styled as Countess of Haddington on 25 June 1870.

Sir John Warrender of Lochend, 5th Bt. was born in March 1786.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Patrick Warrender of Lochend, 3rd Bt. and H. Blair.1 He married, firstly, Lady Julian Jane Maitland, daughter of James Maitland, 8th Earl of Lauderdale and Eleanor Todd, on 10 April 1823.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Frances Henrietta Arden, daughter of Richard Pepper Arden, 1st Baron Alvanley and Anne Dorothea Wilbraham-Bootle, on 25 June 1831.1 He died on 21 January 1867 at age 80 at Bruntisfield House, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Foot Guards.1 He fought in the Peninsular Wars.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.1,2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Warrender, of Lochend, co. Haddington [G.B., 1715] on 21 February 1849.1

Hon. Frances Henrietta Arden was born circa 1792.1 She was the daughter of Richard Pepper Arden, 1st Baron Alvanley and Anne Dorothea Wilbraham-Bootle.1 She married Sir John Warrender of Lochend, 5th Bt., son of Lt.-Col. Sir Patrick Warrender of Lochend, 3rd Bt. and H. Blair, on 25 June 1831.1 She died on 20 February 1852 at Malaga, SpainG, without male issue.1
