Philip Maunsell married Demoiselle de Montsorrel, daughter of Hugh de Montsorrel, circa 1067.1
He was Cup Bearer to William the Conqueror, whom he accompanied to England.1 He was appointed Knight.1 In 1066 on the Roll of Battle Abbey.1 He received the Manor of Oswick (Osmuche) in Glamorgan from his uncle, Sir Henry Harley.1 He built a fine mansion house at the Manor of Oswick.1
