Alexander Forbes, 10th Lord Forbes was the son of Arthur Forbes, 9th Lord Forbes and Jean Elphinstone.1 He married, firstly, Anne Forbes, daughter of Sir John Forbes, 8th of Pitsligo and Christian Ogilvy.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Forbes, daughter of Robert Forbes.2 He died on 20 April 1672 at Stockholm, SwedenG.2
     He fought in the Thirty Years War, under King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden.1 He succeeded as the 10th Lord Forbes [S., 1445] in 1641.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1643 in the Scottish Army in Ireland.1
