William Widdrington, 3rd Baron Widdrington was born on 26 January 1656.2 He was the son of William Widdrington, 2nd Baron Widdrington and Elizabeth Bertie.2 He married Hon. Alathea Fairfax, daughter of Charles Fairfax, 5th Viscount Fairfax of Emley and Abigail Yate, in January 1677.1 He died on 10 February 1695 at age 39.2
He gained the title of 3rd Baron Widdrington. He held the office of Governor of Berwick between 1686 and 1688.2
