     Dame Flora Louisa Cecilia Macleod, 28th of Macleod was born on 3 January 1878 at Westminster, London, England^G.^2,3 She is the daughter of Sir Reginald Macleod, 27th of MacLeod and Lady Agnes Mary Cecilia Northcote.² She married Hubert Walter, son of John Walter and Flora MacNab, on 5 June 1901.⁴ She died in 1976.²
     From 5 June 1901, her married name became Walter.¹ In 1933 her name was legally changed to Flora Louisa Cecilia MacLeod.² In 1934 she succeeded her father in the Barony of Dunvegan.² She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Inverness-shire in 1935.² She was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated her arms at the Lyons Court on 28 November 1935.² She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1953.²
