Evelyn Elizabeth Forbes was the daughter of Sir Charles John Forbes of Newe, 4th Bt. and Helen Moncreiffe.2 She married, firstly, William Dodge James, son of Daniel James and Sophia Hitchcock, on 5 March 1889.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. John Chaytor Brinton, son of John Brinton, on 30 August 1913.1 She and Lt.-Col. John Chaytor Brinton were divorced in 1927.1 She died on 13 May 1929.1
She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)1 From 5 March 1889, her married name became James. From 30 August 1913, her married name became Brinton. She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1922.1

Lt.-Col. John Chaytor Brinton was the son of John Brinton. He married Evelyn Elizabeth Forbes, daughter of Sir Charles John Forbes of Newe, 4th Bt. and Helen Moncreiffe, on 30 August 1913.1 He and Evelyn Elizabeth Forbes were divorced in 1927.1 He died on 6 April 1956.2
