Robert Maunsell1

     Robert Maunsell was born on 4 August 1795.1 He was the son of Daniel Maunsell and Sarah Meares.2 He married, firstly, Anne Lloyd, daughter of Reverend John Lloyd, in 1821.1 He married, secondly, Fanny Dwyer, daughter of Francis Dwyer, in 1834.1 He married, thirdly, Louisa Douglas, daughter of James Douglas, in 1848.1 He died in 1875.1
     He was a practising Solicitor.1 He lived at Merrion Square, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1

     Daniel Maunsell was the son of Richard Maunsell and Helena Maria Toler.1,2 He married Sarah Meares, daughter of George Meares, on 18 February 1779.1 He died on 14 February 1824.1
     He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1769.1 He lived at Ballywilliam, County Limerick, IrelandG.1

Richard Mary Synnot Maunsell1

     Richard Mary Synnot Maunsell was born on 22 October 1843.1 He was the son of George Woods Maunsell and Maria Synnot.1,2 He married, firstly, Maria Lucy Copland, daughter of Alexander Copland, in 1863.1 He married, secondly, Mary Eliza Caswell, daughter of Samuel Caswell, on 26 February 1877.1 He married, thirdly, Georgina Midleton, daughter of J Midleton, in 1894.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Royal Dragoons.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Kildare.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Clare.1 In 1890 High Sherriff co Kildare.1 He lived at Oakly Park, County Kildare, IrelandG.1 He lived at Blackwater, County Clare, IrelandG.1

     George Woods Maunsell was born on 10 September 1815.1 He was the son of Richard Maunsell and Maria Woods.1,2 He married Maria Synnot, daughter of Mark Synnot, on 4 August 1842.1 He died on 26 April 1887 at age 71.1

Lt.-Col. Thomas Maunsell1

     Lt.-Col. Thomas Maunsell was born in 1704.1 He was the son of Thomas Maunsell and Thomasine Stephens.1,2 He married Anna Twigg, daughter of Venerable William Twigg and Diana Wray, on 20 April 1725.1 He died on 7 October 1768.1
     He was admitted to Middle Temple entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Northamptonshire Militia.1 He lived at Thorpe Malsor, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.1

John Maunsell1

     John Maunsell was born circa 1622.1 He was the son of Thomas Maunsell and Aphra Crayford.2 He married, secondly, Jane Campbell, daughter of John Campbell.1 He married, firstly, Mary Booth, daughter of George Booth, in 1656.2 He died on 14 November 1695.1
     He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, on 9 July 1640.2 He was admitted to Middle Temple entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.2 He fought in the Battle of Naseby, where he was severely wounded.2 He gained the rank of Captain in 1653 in the Life Guards of Henry Cromwell.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Limerick in 1671.2 He lived at Ballyvoreen, County Limerick, IrelandG.2

Colonel Thomas Maunsell1

     Colonel Thomas Maunsell was the son of Thomas Maunsell and Aphra Crayford.2 He married Margaret Knoyle, daughter of Leonard Knoyle and Francisca Jerard, in 1641.1 He died on 13 March 1686/87.1
     He was one of 'the '49 officers.1' In 1649/50 he greatly distinguished himself in the defence of Mocollop Castle.1 With a portion of the ruins of Mocollop Castle, he built himself a mansion house close to the castle.1 He lived at Mocollop, County Waterford, IrelandG.1

     Thomas Maunsell was born on 6 April 1577.1 He was the son of Thomas Maunsell and Agnes Morton.2 He married Aphra Crayford, daughter of Sir William Crayford.1 He died circa 1646.1
     He matriculated at Magdalen Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 10 October 1594.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He served against the Spanish Armada.1 He retired from the military in 1609, late of the Royal Navy.1 He was admitted to Barnard's Inn and Gray's Inn entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He sold the Newport Pagnell estate left him by his father and settled in Ireland.1 He lived at Chicheley, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1 He lived at Derryville, County Cork, IrelandG.1 He had twelve other children, all of whom did not survive him.1

     Dorothy Frances Suzanne Layard is the daughter of Captain Brownlow Villiers Layard.1 She married Lt.-Cdr. Brian William Marshal Clarke, son of Admiral Sir Marshal Llewelyn Clarke and Ina Leonora Edwards, on 15 September 1951.1
     From 15 September 1951, her married name became Clarke.1
