Sir John Frankland-Payne-Gallwey, 4th Bt. was born on 23 December 1889.1 He was the son of Captain Edwin John Payne-Gallwey and Susan Isabel Garstin Gresley.2 He married Evelyn Florence Lee, daughter of James Lee, on 19 September 1915.1 He died on 13 February 1955 at age 65, without issue.1
He fought in the First World War in 1914.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Payne [U.K., 1812] on 24 November 1916.1 On 25 October 1919 his name was legally changed to John Frankland-Payne-Gallwey by Royal Licence.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.1
