Mary Russell Scott was the daughter of William Russell Scott.2 She married Sir James Brooke Fairbairn, 6th Bt., son of Sir William Albert Fairbairn, 5th Bt. and Christine Renée Cotton Croft, on 5 November 1960.1 She died in 1992.1

Sir Robert William Fairbairn, 7th Bt. was born on 10 April 1965.1 He is the son of Sir James Brooke Fairbairn, 6th Bt. and Mary Russell Scott.2 He married Sarah Frances Colleypriest Griffin, daughter of Roger Griffin, on 10 November 1990.1
He was educated at King's School, Ely, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Durham University, Durham, County Durham, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was investment manager with GT Management between 1987 and 1991.1 He was investment manager with Lazard Investors between 1991 and 1994.1 He was investment manager with Mercury Asset Management
in 1994.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Fairbairn, of Ardwick, Lancashire [U.K., 1869] on 28 April 2017.3
