Samuel Henry Butcher was born on 16 April 1850.2 He was the son of Most Rev. Rt. Hon. Samuel Butcher and Mary Leahy.1,2 He married Rose Julia Chenevix Trench, daughter of Most Rev. and Rt. Hon. Richard Chenevix Trench and Hon. Frances Mary Trench, on 8 June 1876.1 He died on 29 December 1910 at age 60, without issue.1

Most Rev. Rt. Hon. Samuel Butcher was born on 9 October 1811.1 He was the son of Vice-Admiral Samuel Butcher and Elizabeth Anne Herbert.2 He married Mary Leahy, daughter of John Leahy, on 23 November 1847.1 He died on 29 July 1876 at age 64.1
