Rev. Sir Abraham Elton, 5th Bt. was born on 23 March 1755.1 He was the son of Sir Abraham Isaac Elton, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Read.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Durbin, daughter of Sir John Durbin, on 7 November 1776.1 He married, secondly, Mary Stewart, daughter of William Stewart and Euphemia Mackenzie, on 29 March 1823.1 He died on 23 February 1842 at age 86.1
He graduated from Christ's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Elton, of Bristol [G.B., 1717] on 5 February 1790.1 He was Chairman of Somerset Quarter Sessions.1
