     G/Capt. Nigel William David Marwood-Elton was born on 22 August 1911.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. William Marwood-Elton and Juliet Marriott.² He married Daphne Richards, daughter of Gordon Richards, on 22 December 1952.¹ He died in October 1995 at age 84 at Bodmin, Cornwall, England.³
     He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice and became a POW.¹ He gained the rank of Group Captain in the Royal Air Force.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)¹
