Hon. Alexander Murray1

     Hon. Alexander Murray was born on 9 December 1712.1 He was the son of Alexander Murray, 4th Lord Elibank and Elizabeth Stirling.2 He died on 27 February 1778 at age 65, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Ensign in 1737 in the 26th Foot.1 Between February 1751 and June 1751 he was committed to Newgate Prison after opposing the government at the Westminster election of 1750.1 In 1752 he was the probable fomentor of the Elibank Plot of 1752, in which an elite force of Jacobites aimed to take St. James's Palace, mount an attack on the Tower of London and kidnap or slaughter the Royal Family.1 He lived at FranceG.1 He was created 1st Earl of Westminster [England] on 12 August 1759, Jacobite, by the titular King James III.1 Circa 1765 he returned to Great Britain and his exile formally terminated under the Privy Seal April 1771.1

     James Edward Ferguson Murray was born on 19 April 1806.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. James Patrick Murray and Elizabeth Rushworth.2 He married Katherine Jane Slaughter, daughter of John Slaughter, on 15 December 1830.1 He died on 17 July 1834 at age 28.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.1
