Charlotte Mary Heathcote was the daughter of Reverend Robert Boothby Heathcote and Charlotte Sotheby.1 She married William Proby, 5th Earl of Carysfort, son of Admiral Granville Leveson Proby, 3rd Earl of Carysfort and Isabella Howard, on 11 April 1860 at Chingford, Essex, EnglandG.1 She died on 13 January 1918 at Clevehurst, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.2 She was buried on 17 January 1918 at Elton Hall, Huntingdonshire, EnglandG.2 Her will was proven (by probate) in March 1918, at £352,135 gross.2

Reverend Robert Boothby Heathcote was born on 13 May 1805.1 He was the son of John Heathcote and Mary Anne Thornhill.2 He married, firstly, Charlotte Sotheby, daughter of Admiral Thomas Sotheby and Lady Mary Anne Bourke, on 9 March 1837.3 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Bridget Wells, daughter of Captain William Wells, on 10 October 1848.1 He died on 19 September 1865 at age 60.1

Admiral Thomas Sotheby was born on 15 May 1758.2 He was the son of Colonel William Sotheby and Elizabeth Sloane.2 He was baptised on 2 June 1758 at St. George's, Bloomsbury, London, England.3 He married, firstly, Sarah Anstey, daughter of Christopher Anstey and Anne Calvert, in 1788.4 He married, secondly, Lady Mary Anne Bourke, daughter of Most Rev. Joseph Deane Bourke, 3rd Earl of Mayo and Elizabeth Meade, in April 1806.5 He died in July 1831 at age 73.2
