     He was educated at Strangeways School, Manchester, Lancashire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a practising Solicitor.1 He fought in the First World War, with 7th Royal Dublin Fusiliers.1

     Mary Barbara Dawson is the daughter of Major Ambrose Middleton Dawson and Marie Stella Bolland.2,3 She married Herbert Maxwell Findlater, son of Herbert Snowden Findlater and Evelyn Maxwell Thompson, on 3 April 1948.1
     From 3 April 1948, her married name became Findlater.
