Sir Peter Benson Maxwell was born circa 1817 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.2 He was the son of Reverend Peter Benson Maxwell and Hester Emily O'Hara.1,2 He married Frances Dorothea Synge, daughter of Francis Synge and Elizabeth Taylor, in 1842.1 He died on 14 January 1893 at Grasse, France.1,2
