Edward Butler1

     Edward Butler was born circa 1732.1 He was the son of Edmond Butler and Anne Skellern.2 A settlement for the marriage between him and Sarah Harrington was made on 15 December 1763.1 He married, secondly, Mary Walsh, daughter of Reverend John Walsh, on 15 March 1766.1 He died circa March 1816.1 He was buried on 23 March 1816.1
     On 13 December 1760 he received a grant of the lands of Newtown.1 He purchased Newtown in 1765.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kilkenny in 1787.1 He lived at Chapel Street, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He lived at Tennislatty, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1 He lived at Edmondsbury, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1 He was a practising Attorney in the King's Bench and Exchequer Courts before 1793.1

Sarah Harrington1

     Sarah Harrington was the daughter of Anderson Harrington.1 A settlement for the marriage between her and Edward Butler was made on 15 December 1763.1 She died circa 1764, without issue.1
     From 15 December 1763, her married name became Butler.

     Mary Walsh was the daughter of Reverend John Walsh.2 She married Edward Butler, son of Edmond Butler and Anne Skellern, on 15 March 1766.1 She died circa January 1815.1 She was buried on 8 January 1815.1
     From 15 January 1766, her married name became Butler.

     Reverend Samuel Madden was born in 1728.2 He was the son of Very Rev. John Madden and Deborah Cooke.3 He married Cassandra Travers, daughter of Michael Travers and Margaret Purefoy, on 21 September 1756.2 He died on 22 September 1800.2
     He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He was Vicar-General of the Ossory Diocese.1 He lived at Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1

     Frances Madden was the daughter of Reverend Samuel Madden.2 She and Edmond Butler obtained a marriage license on 29 April 1794.1 She died in 1834.1
     From 29 April 1794, her married name became Butler.

     Reverend Piers Edmund Butler was the son of Edmond Butler and Frances Madden.2 He married, firstly, Mary Sheares, daughter of Henry Sheares, on 3 September 1823.1 A settlement for the marriage between him and Jane Holman was made on 22 September 1838.2 He died on 8 April 1842.2
     He graduated in 1804.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1822 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was the Chaplain at Molyneux Asylum for Blind, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He lived at Edmondsbury, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1 He lived at Templeogue, County Dublin, IrelandG.1

     Reverend Piers Butler was born on 27 February 1826.1 He was the son of Reverend Piers Edmund Butler and Mary Sheares.2,1 He and Sophia Lever obtained a marriage license on 15 January 1852.1 He died on 18 November 1886 at age 60.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1850 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was the Curate between 1851 and 1853 at Southrepps, Norfolk, EnglandG.1 He leased Edmondsbury, for 51 years to a John Hungerford Switzer on 29 November 1856.1 He lived at Edmondsbury, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1
