Martha Saumarez was born on 6 September 1828.1 She was the daughter of Admiral Richard Saumarez and Anne Ellson.2 She married Reverend Frederick Grosvenor, son of Thomas Frederick Sowdon, on 7 July 1853.1,3 She died on 27 October 1879 at age 51.1
