     Bertha Cross was the daughter of John Kynaston Cross.2 She married Charles Neville Clarke, son of Marshal Neville Clarke and Mary Elizabeth Pearson, on 5 February 1896.1 She died on 26 April 1942 at Bath, Somerset, EnglandG, killed by enemy action.1
     From 5 February 1896, her married name became Clarke.

     Marshal Neville Clarke was born on 10 January 1897.2 He was the son of Charles Neville Clarke and Bertha Cross.2 He died on 6 October 1977 at age 80 at London, EnglandG.3
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War.2 He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1921 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1924 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.2 He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1925 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was in the Metropolitan Police during the Second World War.2 He was admitted to King's Inns Dublin in 1949.2

     Brigadier Edward Neville Clarke was born on 14 January 1900.1 He was the son of Charles Neville Clarke and Bertha Cross.2 He married Rachael Phillott Wadeson, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Frederick William George Wadeson, on 15 July 1947.1 He died on 14 January 1975 at age 75.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1940.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1946.1 He was Senior Staff Officer to General Officer Commanding, Hong Kong in 1946.1 He retired from the military in 1953, with the rank of Brigadier, late of the Rifle Brigade.1

     Maj.-Gen. Frederick William George Wadeson was born on 12 July 1860.2 He died on 10 December 1920 at age 60.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in 1891 in the Indian Staff Corps.2 He gained the rank of Major in 1900.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1907.2 He gained the rank of Brigade Commander in 1913.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1917, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1915.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1916.2 He lived at Redcliff, Exeter, Devon, EnglandG.1

     From 15 July 1947, her married name became Clarke. She lived in 1976 at Hephill, Lugwardine, Herefordshire, EnglandG.1
