     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He adopted Mary Clarke.2 He adopted Thomas Clarke.2 He adopted George Clarke.2 He lived in 1976 at Cothangar Farm, Fivehead, Taunton, Somerset, EnglandG.1
