G/Capt. Denys Guy Lemprière Heywood was born on 10 November 1926.1 He was the son of Alan Lemprière Heywood and Constance Matilda Swales.2 He married Elisabeth Ann Baker, daughter of John Jeffrey Baker, on 12 October 1957.1 He died circa 2 September 2010.3
He was educated at Denstone College, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Group Captain in the Royal Air Force, served on Fighter Squadrons in Palestine, Iraq, Egypt and Germany.1 He was commander of the No 94 (F) Squadron and No 617 (The Dambusters) Squadron.1 He was SACEUR Representative to Joint Strategic Target Planning Staff at SAC HQ at Nebraska, U.S.A.G.1 He was the Bursar between 1977 and 1988 at Tudor Hall, Banbury, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He lived in 2003 at Deddington Manor, Deddington, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1
