     Arthur Makgill was born on 15 December 1652.1 He was the son of Reverend John Makgill and Helen Forbes.2 He married, firstly, Janet Ramsay, daughter of John Ramsay of Brackmont and Margaret Bruce, on 6 April 1675.1 He married, secondly, Jean Bruce, daughter of Sir John Bruce, Bt., on 4 July 1695.1 He died on 21 January 1725 at age 72.1
     He was Parliamentary Commissioner of Fife.1 He lived at Kemback, Fife, ScotlandG.1
