     Robert Humphrey Gordon Edmonds was born on 5 October 1920.² He was the son of Air Vice-Marshal Charles Humphrey Kingsman Edmonds.² He married Enid Balint.² He married Gillian Pawley.² He married Georgina Combe, daughter of Commander Anthony Boyce Combe and Sybil Barbara Farquhar, in 1951.¹ He died on 12 April 2009 at age 88.²
     He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)² He held the office of High Commissioner to Nicosia, Cyprus.² He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1969.² He wrote the book Soviet Foreign Policy in the Brezhnev Years, published 1983.² He wrote the book Setting the Mould, published 1986.² He wrote the book The Big Three, published 1991.²

     Marjorie Hylda Adeline Cator was the daughter of Charles George Lumley Cator and Adeline Louisa Blois.² She married James Owen Needham, son of Frederick William Needham and Geraldine Paget, on 3 June 1929.¹ She died on 14 January 2000.³
     From 3 June 1929, her married name became Needham.
