     Lewis Stafford Northcote was born on 23 March 1831.¹ He was the son of Reverend Stafford Charles Northcote and Elizabeth Helena Robbins.² He married Isabella Mary Augusta Weguelin, daughter of Captain J. C. R. Weguelin, on 4 April 1861.¹ He died on 21 September 1882 at age 51.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 39th Regiment.¹
