James Freiherr Washington was born in 1778.1 He died on 5 August 1848 at Munich, Bavaria, GermanyG.1
On 7 June 1815 he concluded a treaty between Bavaria and Britain.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Bavarian Army.1 He was created Freiherr von Washington [Bavaria] on 8 December 1830, by King Ludwig I.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 12 July 1843.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1 He was awarded the Order of the Bavarian Crown.1 He was awarded the Order of the Saviour of Greece.1
