Major Denis Leonard Stafford Northcote was born on 17 August 1904.1 He was the son of Major Leonard Augustus Stafford Northcote and Lilian Cora van Praagh.2 He married, firstly, Sylvia Smith, daughter of Colonel I. Manners Smith, V.C., in 1929.1 He married, secondly, Beatrice Margaret Malcolm, daughter of Robert Malcolm, in 1947.1 He died in 1978.1
He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.1
