Sir John Anthony Cecil Tilley was born on 21 January 1869 at St. George's Square, London, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Sir John Tilley and Susannah Montgomerie.3,4 He married Edith Honoria Montgomery-Cuninghame, daughter of Sir William James Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Hartopp, on 7 September 1901.1 He died on 5 April 1952 at age 83.1
