Samuel Masham, 1st Baron Masham of Otes was born in 1678. He was the son of Sir Francis Masham, 3rd Bt. and Mary Scott.2 He married Abigail Hill, daughter of Francis Hill and Elizabeth Jennings, in 1707. He died on 16 October 1758.2
He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber to Prince George of Denmark in 1706.2 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1710.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ilchester from 1710 to 1711.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for New Windsor from 1711 to 1712.2 He was created 1st Baron Masham of Otes [Great britain] on 1 January 1712. He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Masham [E., 1621] on 7 February 1723.

Pownoll Bastard Pellew, 2nd Viscount Exmouth was born on 1 July 1786.1 He was the son of Edward Pellew, 1st Viscount Exmouth and Susannah Frowde.2 He married, firstly, Eliza Harriet Barlow, daughter of Sir George Hilaro Barlow, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Smith, on 1 October 1808.1 He and Eliza Harriet Barlow were divorced in 1820.1 He married, secondly, Georgina Janet Dick, daughter of Mungo Dick, on 2 April 1822.1 He died on 2 December 1833 at age 47.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Exmouth of Canonteign, co. Devon [U.K., 1814] on 23 January 1833.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Pellew, of Exmouth, co. Devon [G.B., 1796] on 23 January 1833.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Exmouth, co. Devon [U.K., 1816] on 23 January 1833.1
