John Knight1

     John Knight was the son of James Knight and Jane Wharton.2 He married Margaret Bruce, daughter of William Bruce and Jane Lewis, on 29 August 1779.1 He died on 15 October 1799.1
     He lived at Llanblethian, Glamorgan, WalesG.1

     William Bruce was born in 1705.1 He was the son of James Bruce and Margaret Holloway.1 He married, firstly, Jane Lewis, daughter of Gabriel Lewis.1 He married, secondly, Mary Turberville, daughter of unknown Turberville.1
     He was banker.1 He was navy agent.1 He acquired the Duffryn estate (in what is now Mid Glamorgan, 6 miles east of Neath.)1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Glamorgan.1 He gained the rank of unknown rank in the Royal Navy.1
