Standish Thomas O'Grady was born on 5 July 1855.1 He was the son of Robert Dring O'Grady and Eliza Hobson.1 He married Isabella Henrietta Smyth on 27 March 1883 at Stoke Damerel, Devon, England.2 He died in 1926 at Elham, Kent, England.2
He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (L.R.C.S.I.) in 1875.2 He gained the rank of Surgeon on 31 March 1877 in the Royal Navy.1,2 He gained the rank of Fleet Surgeon.2 He gained the rank of Deputy Inspector-General on 18 February 1904.2 He retired from the military on 26 January 1910, with the rank of Inspector-General.2
