Lt.-Col. John Aylward Blood was born on 27 December 1797.1 He was the son of Neptune Blood and Ellen Blake.1 He married, firstly, Frederica Gamble, daughter of Reverend John Gamble, on 5 July 1828.1 He married Marianne Yerbury, daughter of John Yerbury, on 3 August 1840.1 He died on 22 July 1847 at age 49.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 68th Light Infantry.1

Frederica Gamble was the daughter of Reverend John Gamble.1 She married Lt.-Col. John Aylward Blood, son of Neptune Blood and Ellen Blake, on 5 July 1828.1 She died in 1838 at Waterford, County Waterford, IrelandG, by hanging herself from a bedpost.1
