He was given the name of Peter Petersen at birth.1 He was a physician in 1736 at Neustadt, Alsace, GermanyG.1 He was Physian-in-Ordinary to Karl Friedrich, Duke of Holstein in 1737.1 He was Professor of Medicine in 1744 at University of Kiel, Kiel, GermanyG.1 He was Physian-in-Ordinary to Crown Prince Adolf Fredrik of Sweden in 1747.1 He wrote the book Description of the Swedish Royal Traveling Pharmacy, published 1766.1 On 26 January 1770 his name was legally changed to Peter von Heidenstam after being raised to the Swedish hereditary nobility.1
