     William Edward Geake was born in 1860 at Launceston, Cornwall, England.¹ He was the son of Henry Geake and Martha Hawke.¹ He married Elizabeth Mary Lucas in 1887 at Barton Regis, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He died in 1944 at Exeter, Devon, England.¹
     He lived at Seton, Midlothian, Scotland^G.²

     Anna Maria von Pfalz-Neuburg was born on 18 July 1575. She married Friedrich Wilhelm I Herzog von Sachsen-Altenburg, son of Johann Wilhelm Herzog von Sachsen-Weimar and Dorothea Susanna von der Pfalz, on 9 September 1591. She died on 1 February 1643 at age 67 at Dornburg, Germany^G.

     unknown Durward married Sir Walter Ogilvy of Lintrathen, son of Sir Walter Ogilvy of Auchterhouse and Isabel Ramsay.¹ She died before 1427.²
     Her married name became Ogilvy.¹

     George Carpenter married Mary Elizabeth Walsh, daughter of John Walsh and Elizabeth (?).² He died in 1782.²

     Colonel Martin Tucker was born in 1729.¹ He was the son of Francis Tucker and Dorothy Smyth.¹ He married Henrietta Baker.¹ He died in 1792.¹

     Georgiana Augusta Frederica Seymour married Lt.-Col. Lord William Charles Augustus Cavendish-Bentinck, son of William Henry Cavendish-Bentinck, 3rd Duke of Portland and Lady Dorothy Cavendish, on 21 September 1808.¹ She died on 10 December 1813.¹
     Her married name became Cavendish-Bentinck.

     Lady Dorothy Cavendish was born on 27 August 1750.³ She was the daughter of William Cavendish, 4th Duke of Devonshire and Charlotte Elizabeth Boyle, Baroness Clifford.¹ She married William Henry Cavendish-Bentinck, 3rd Duke of Portland, son of William Bentinck, 2nd Duke of Portland and Lady Margaret Cavendish Harley, on 8 November 1766.¹ She died on 3 June 1794 at age 43.¹
     From 8 November 1766, her married name became Bentinck. After her marriage, Lady Dorothy Cavendish was styled as Duchess of Portland on 8 November 1766. She purchased the Kilmaurs estate in 1786 from James Cuninghame, 14th Earl of Glencairn.^3,4

     William Cavendish, 4th Duke of Devonshire was born in 1720.³ He was the son of William Cavendish, 3rd Duke of Devonshire and Catherine Hoskins.¹ He married Charlotte Elizabeth Boyle, Baroness Clifford, daughter of Richard Boyle, 4th Earl of Cork and Lady Dorothy Savile, on 27 March 1748 at Pall Mall, St. James's, London, England^G.³ He died on 2 October 1764 at Spa, Germany^G.³
     He was styled as Marquess of Hartington between 1729 and 1751.⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Derbyshire between 1741 and 1751.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) between 1751 and 1762.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baron Cavendish of Hardwick, co. Derby [E., 1605] on 13 June 1751, in his father's lifetime.⁴ He held the office of Governor of County Cork between 1754 and 1764.¹ He held the office of Lord High Treasurer [Ireland] between 1754 and 1764.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland from 1755 to 1756.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Devonshire [E., 1618] on 5 December 1755.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Duke of Devonshire [E., 1694] on 5 December 1755.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Marquess of Hartington, co. Derby [E., 1694] on 5 December 1755.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1756.¹ He held the office of Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury between 16 November 1756 and 25 June 1757.¹ He held the office of Lord Chamberlain between 1757 and 1762.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁵
