     Maj.-Gen. William Ashburnham was the son of Sir John Ashburnham and Elizabeth Beaumont, Baroness of Cramond.¹ He married Hon. Jane Boteler, daughter of John Boteler, 1st Baron Boteler of Brantfield and Elizabeth Villiers.¹ He died in 1679, without issue.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) in 1640, but was expelled from the House of Commons for Royalism.^1,3 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royalist Army.¹ He was Colonel-General of the county of Dorset in 1644.¹ He held the office of Cofferer to King Charles II.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁴
     

     Elizabeth Ashburnham is the daughter of Sir John Ashburnham and Elizabeth Beaumont, Baroness of Cramond.¹ She married Frederick Cornwallis, 1st Baron Cornwallis of Eye, son of Sir William Cornwallis and Jane Meautys, circa 1630.^1,2
     From circa 1630, her married name became Cornwallis.¹

     Friedrich II Großherzog von Baden was born on 9 July 1857. He was the son of Friedrich I Großherzog von Baden and Luise Marie Elisabeth Prinzessin von Preußen.¹ He married Hilda von Nassau-Weilburg, Princess of Nassau and Luxemburg, daughter of Adolf Wilhelm von Nassau-Weilburg, Grand-Duc de Luxembourg and Adelheid Marie Prinzessin von Anhalt-Dessau, on 20 September 1885 at Schloss Hohenberg, Bayern, Germany^G. He died in August 1928 at age 71 at Badenweiler, Germany^G.
     He succeeded as the Friedrich II Großherzog von Baden on 28 September 1907.¹ He was deposed as Grand-Duke of Baden in 1918.¹

     Frederick Cornwallis, 1st Baron Cornwallis of Eye was born on 14 March 1610.¹ He was the son of Sir William Cornwallis and Jane Meautys.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Ashburnham, daughter of Sir John Ashburnham and Elizabeth Beaumont, Baroness of Cramond, circa 1630.^3,2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Crofts, daughter of Sir Henry Crofts, before 1641.² He died on 31 January 1661/62 at age 51.¹ He was also reported to have died on 7 January 1661/62.²
     He was created 1st Baronet Cornwallis [England] on 4 May 1627.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1630.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Eye from April 1640 to May 1640.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Eye between November 1640 and September 1642.² He fought in the Battle of Cropedy Bridge on 30 June 1644.² In 1648 he was fined £800 by Parliament.² He held the office of Treasurer of the Household from 1660 to January 1661/62.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ipswich between October 1660 and December 1660.² He was created 1st Baron Cornwallis of Eye, Suffolk [England] on 20 April 1661.²

     James Ley, 1st Earl of Marlborough was born in 1552.⁴ He was the son of Henry Ley and Dyonisia de St. Mayne.⁵ He married, thirdly, Hon. Jane Boteler, daughter of John Boteler, 1st Baron Boteler of Brantfield and Elizabeth Villiers.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Pettie, daughter of John Pettie and Elizabeth Snape, before 1593.⁶ He married, secondly, Mary Pierson, daughter of Thomas Pierson, circa 13 February 1617/18.⁶ He died on 14 March 1629.⁴
     He gained the title of 1st Earl of Marlborough. He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westbury in 1597/98.⁵ He held the office of Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench [Ireland] in 1604.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westbury in 1604/5.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westbury in 1609/10.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bath in 1614.⁵ He was created 1st Baronet Ley on 15 July 1619. He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1624.⁵ He held the office of Lord High Treasurer between 1624 and 1628.⁴ He was created 1st Baron Ley, of Ley, co. Devon on 31 December 1624.

     Frances Ashburnham is the daughter of Sir John Ashburnham and Elizabeth Beaumont, Baroness of Cramond.¹ She married Frederick Turville.¹
     Her married name became Turville.¹

     Elisabeth Charlotte Alexandra Marie Luise Prinzessin von Hessen-Kassel was born on 13 June 1861 at Copenhagen, Denmark^G. She was the daughter of Friedrich Karl Georg Adolf Landgraf von Hessen-Kassel and Marie Anne Friederike Prinzessin von Preußen. She married Leopold Prinz von Anhalt, son of Leopold Friedrich I Franz Nikolaus Fürst von Anhalt and Antionette Charlotte Marie Jospehine Karoline Frida Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg, on 26 May 1884 at Philippsruhe, Germany^G. She died on 7 January 1955 at age 93.
     She gained the title of Prinzessin von Hessen-Kassel.¹

     Frederick Turville married Frances Ashburnham, daughter of Sir John Ashburnham and Elizabeth Beaumont, Baroness of Cramond.¹

     Leopold Prinz von Anhalt was born on 18 July 1855. He was the son of Leopold Friedrich I Franz Nikolaus Fürst von Anhalt and Antionette Charlotte Marie Jospehine Karoline Frida Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg. He married Elisabeth Charlotte Alexandra Marie Luise Prinzessin von Hessen-Kassel, daughter of Friedrich Karl Georg Adolf Landgraf von Hessen-Kassel and Marie Anne Friederike Prinzessin von Preußen, on 26 May 1884 at Philippsruhe, Germany^G. He died on 2 February 1886 at age 30.

     Katherine Ashburnham was the daughter of Sir John Ashburnham and Elizabeth Beaumont, Baroness of Cramond.¹ She died, unmarried.¹
