     Sir David Ogilvy of Clova was born after 1616. He was the son of James Ogilvy, 1st Earl of Airlie and Lady Isabel Hamilton.2 He married Hon. Margaret Hamilton, daughter of John Hamilton, 1st Lord Bargany and Lady Jean Douglas, in 1667.3
     He was a Royalist in the Civil War.2 He lived at Clova, Angus, ScotlandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Forfarshire between 1669 and 1672.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Forfarshire from 1681 to 1682.3

     Sir John Kennedy of Culzean, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Archibald Kennedy of Culzean, 1st Bt. and Hon. Elizabeth Leslie.1 A contract for the marriage of Sir John Kennedy of Culzean, 2nd Bt. and Jean Douglas was signed on 15 March 1705.2 He died before 28 January 1743.2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Kennedy, of Culzean, co. Ayr [S., 1682] before 1711.1

     Sir John Kennedy of Culzean, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir John Kennedy of Culzean, 2nd Bt. and Jean Douglas.1 He died on 10 April 1744, unmarried.1
     He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Kennedy, of Culzean, co. Ayr [S., 1682] before 1743.

Thomas Kennedy, 9th Earl of Cassliis

     Thomas Kennedy of Culzean, 9th Earl of Cassillis was the son of Sir John Kennedy of Culzean, 2nd Bt. and Jean Douglas.1 He died on 30 November 1775 at Culzean, Ayrshire, ScotlandG, unmarried.3 His will was proven (by probate) in March 1776.3
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Kennedy, of Culzean, co. Ayr [S., 1682] on 10 April 1744.4 He gained the rank of officer in the British Army.3 He fought in the campaigns in Flanders.3 On 29 February 1760 the Court of Session House of Lords found the right to the estates of the 8th Earl of Cassillis to be in Thomas' favour, after a competition, both for the estates and for the title of 8th Earl of Cassilis, between William, Earl of March and Ruglen, heir of line, and Sir Thomas, the heir male. The same was found with regard to the title on a reference to the House of Lords, 27 January 1762.3 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Kennedy [S., 1458] on 27 January 1762.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Cassillis [S., 1509] on 27 January 1762.1 He lived at Culzean, Ayrshire, ScotlandG.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1774 and 1775.3

David Kennedy of Culzean, 10th Earl of Cassillis1

     David Kennedy of Culzean, 10th Earl of Cassillis was the son of Sir John Kennedy of Culzean, 2nd Bt. and Jean Douglas.1 He died on 18 December 1792 at Culzean, Ayrshire, ScotlandG, from gout, unmarried.2
     He was admitted to Faculty of Advocates in 1752.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ayrshire between 1768 and 1774.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Kennedy, of Culzean, co. Ayr [S., 1682] on 30 November 1775.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Cassillis [S., 1509] on 30 November 1775.1 He succeeded as the 12th Lord Kennedy [S., 1458] on 30 November 1775.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1776 and 1790.2 On 2 February 1790 he entailed the estates of both Culzean and Cassillis on the heirs male of the family.2
     He was succeeded by his kinsman and heir male, a descendant of the Hon. Sir Thomas Kennedy, second son of the 3rd Earl, although the Baronetcy Kennedy of Culzean became extinct.2
