Dame Isabel Maria Marjoribanks was born on 14 March 1857.1 She was the daughter of Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks, 1st Baron Tweedmouth of Edington and Isabella Hogg.1 She married John Campbell Hamilton-Gordon, 1st Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair, son of George John James Hamilton-Gordon, 5th Earl of Aberdeen and Lady Mary Baillie, on 7 November 1877 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 18 April 1939 at age 82.3

Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks, 1st Baron Tweedmouth of Edington was born on 29 December 1820.2 He was the son of Edward Marjoribanks and Georgiana de Lautour.2 He was baptised on 19 January 1821 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, England.3 He married Isabella Hogg, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir James Weir Hogg, 1st Bt. and Mary Claudine Swinton, in 1848.2 He died on 4 March 1894 at age 73.
