Marie Ruan du Bois was the daughter of Francis Blake du Bois.2 She married Sir Henry Lennox Hopkinson, son of General Henry Hopkinson and Jean Montgomerie, on 6 December 1900.1 She died on 11 July 1949.1

Lt.-Col. John Montgomerie Hopkinson was born on 28 November 1902.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Lennox Hopkinson and Marie Ruan du Bois.2 He married Alexandra Martha Ingeborg Pauline Stiernstedt, daughter of Baron Erik Stjernstedt, on 26 September 1933.1 He died on 7 October 1989 at age 86 at Royston, Hertfordshire, England.3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (F.I.C.A.)1 He became a Master Merchant of the Taylors' Company in 1953.1
