Sir Edward Dering, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir Cholmely Dering, 4th Bt. and Mary Fisher.1 He married, firstly, Mary Henshaw, daughter of Edward Henshaw, on 24 February 1728.1 He married, secondly, Mary Fotherby, daughter of Captain Charles Fotherby, on 11 September 1735.1 He died on 15 April 1762.1
He lived at Surrenden, Kent, England.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kent.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Dering, of Surrenden Dering, co. Kent [E., 1626] on 9 May 1711.1
