Rear-Admiral Richard Anthony Aston Plowden was born on 24 May 1881.1 He was the son of Charles William Plowden and Josephine Senior.2 He married Phyllis Mary Higginson, daughter of H. Pasley Higginson, in 1911.1 He died on 24 October 1941 at age 60, killed in action.1
He was educated at Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at H.M.S. Britannia, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1933.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Commodore in the Ocean Convoys.1
