Lt.-Cdr. John Ashton Shuttleworth

     Lt.-Cdr. John Ashton Shuttleworth was born on 14 November 1918 at Sheffield, Yorkshire, West Riding, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Major Ashton Ashton Shuttleworth and Dorothy Ann Leslie.2,3 He married Margaret Eugenie Blackwell, daughter of Philip William Blackwell, on 25 August 1940.2 He died on 2 August 1983 at age 64.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.4 He was commanding officer of the H.M.S. Flowerdown between 1958 and 1960.1 He was commanding officer of the H.M.S. Forest Moor between 1960 and 1963.1 He retired from the military in 1964, with the rank of Captain, late of the Royal Navy.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Derbyshire in 1972.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1973.1
