     Gerald Fancourt Clayton was born on 5 June 1886.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Gilbert Clayton and Georgina Elizabeth Sykes Clayton.2 He married Annabel Mary Margaret Robertson, daughter of Colonel Henry Maxwell Robertson, on 29 August 1916.1 He died on 13 September 1963 at age 77.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Queen's Royal Regiment.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He was with the Prison Service before 1940.1

     From 14 December 1893, her married name became Sorsbie.

     He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Rector between 1927 and 1934 at Swainswick, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1
